Kim is a dynamic and accessible therapist with a refreshingly interactive and comprehensive approach to helping her clients achieve optimal health and the self they desire. She aims to empower her clients with cutting-edge research about mental health, integrative therapies and wellness. Kim is a New York state licensed social worker with advanced post graduate training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy and cognitive behavior therapy from NYU. She is also a yoga therapist with Donna Karan's groundbreaking Urban Zen Foundation which trains integrative therapists to incorporate complementary treatment modalities into medical settings. Kim continues to study lifestyle and nutrition theory with the Institute For Integrative Nutrition (INN). Kim completed graduate study internships at Postgraduate Center For Mental Health working with adults and Metropolitan Hospital-Inpatient Acute Psychiatric Unit working with adolescents. Kim has provided psychotherapy in both inpatient and mental health clinics, working with adolescents, adults, groups and couples in New York City.  Kim's background in the performing arts and television, in addition to her training in social work, psychology, the healing arts and yoga therapy, has allowed her to incorporate a broad range of interests into her therapeutic work with clients. Kim is currently developing workshops for non for profits in the area of wellness and yoga therapy.

Kim was born and raised in Ohio and spent her childhood studying ballet and modern dance, and competed in swimming, diving, gymnastics and track. In 1981, Kim was enrolled in college and considering pre-med studies when a family member entered her in the Miss Ohio pageant. Her life changed course when she won the title of Miss Ohio and went on to be crowned Miss USA. She was also a finalist in the Miss Universe Pageant. Never a childhood dream or life aspiration, Miss Seelbrede completed her reign and continued living in New York City. Kim modeled and appeared in television commercials and soap operas. She had ongoing appearances in "As The World Turns" and won a lucrative contract as the Sony Beta Movie spokesperson. She studied acting at the Actors Studio in Manhattan.

Seeking expression of her interest in holistic wellness and integrative therapies, she trained to become a yoga instructor with Sonic Yoga, NYC, in the Vinyasa flow tradition (200 hour). In 2009 she received advanced training in integrative therapies with the Urban Zen Foundation. In addition, she is a Reiki practitioner and volunteers this gentle healing whenever possible. 

Kim is passionate about her kids, helping others,  amateur photography, writing, yoga, the beach, body surfing, biking, interior design, travel, cooking, and her dogs.
