Adjunctive EMDR, Meditation, Breathing Techniques and Yoga Therapy for Mental Health and Medical Professionals
I am happy to offer my services to medical and mental health professionals in New York City through adjunctive alternative/complementary therapies with your patients. Using techniques such as EMDR, yoga therapy and relaxation responses as an adjunct to therapy and/or medical treatment, your client/patient will begin to feel contained, grounded and in possession of new skills and tools. Adjunctive EMDR work can be used to for clients struggling with a variety of concerns including PTSD, traumas, eating disorders, anxiety, addictions and attachment issues. The goal of adjunctive EMDR and Stress Reduction Therapy is to help your clients learn to recognize when they feel activated and then return to a more resourced and regulated state. As such, their capacity to manage distress in the here and now as well as tolerate painful memories is increased. If you are working with clients whose trauma symptoms do not resolve and/or you are not comfortable integrating non-conventional techniques into the treatment please call to discuss.
When I collaborate as an adjunct therapist, I make a commitment to both the primary therapist and the patient to support and preserve the integrity of their primary therapy relationship. As well, I emphasize the behavioral-cognitive aspects of EMDR work. The adjunct arrangements are considered short-term and specific symptom-oriented.
