Performance Coaching
Peak Performance Coaching and EMDR Sessions Therapists NYC
I provide Peak Performance Coaching combined with EMDR for clients who struggle with performance blocks and anxiety. EMDR therapy is an effective tool for test-taking anxiety and performance enhancing for athletes, musicians, executives, politicians, public speakers and performers of all types.
EMDR elegantly replaces terrifying and immobilizing fears and anxieties with positive emotions, images and beliefs. This process can change the way you function on a daily basis, as well as in “performance situations” ending years of avoiding the spotlight as well as reducing and replacing negative fears and beliefs with a positive sense of yourself “performing” with ease and comfort.
How does Coaching combined with EMDR work?
- EMDR desensitizes traumatic responses by targeting the fight/flight response that occurs deep in the brain providing a dramatic reduction in negative responses and programming which contribute to performance blocks and anxiety. Functioning improves in previously blocked areas which paves the way for new opportunities and success.
- If you think of the brain as a computer where experiences are “uploaded” one can imagine how “installing” or “pre-programming” positive outcomes for future situations and performances can greatly enhance creativity, confidence and success.
- When you feel “stuck” EMDR and coaching can help you gain access to stalled or blocked abilities freeing your creative flow.
- When you don’t have time to clear blocks or negative past experiences, using specific performance protocols, we can work intensively on upcoming presentations, performances and so on to give you a sense of “I can do this” confidence.
- Between session coaching using such techniques as goal setting, visualization, mental rehearsal and breathing and relaxation techniques.
